Education is our future. It affects the economic development of communities and the success of every individual. Our communities become strong as we educate our citizens.
Children must learn to think. They must learn how to get the right information, and how to incorporate that information into educated decisions.
I bring common sense to State School Board decisions. Board members decide issues about licensure, standards, and accreditation of schools. As we decide those issues, we should be aware that all children are different, schools are different, and locations do matter.
I know western Kansas and the school districts in District 5. I know their needs and their great innovative ways. I have served you and your children on the State Board of Education since 2007, and I need your help to continue my mission of ensuring a quality education for every child in Kansas.
